Katie & Dennis | Hoyt Park Wedding

You know what they say…rain on your wedding day is good luck. Well, if that’s the case, Katie and Dennis are going to have all the luck after their rainy Hoyt Park wedding.

Katie, Dennis, and all their family and friends were super committed to seeing their outdoor ceremony through, rain or shine. Of course that anticipation made it that much more special. And, rain it did. It rained all the way through their wedding ceremony at Hoyt Park. It was clear(ish) before the ceremony, of course, so we thought it might hold off for the ceremony. Almost as soon as Katie got down the aisle it started pattering lightly. It continued through the ceremony; a light drizzle that was just enough to add a little romance. Almost as soon as they walked up the aisle it started pouring, forcing everyone to sprint to the pavilion.

After spending time drying off in the bathrooms, including using the hand dryers as hair dryers, the weather cleared up a bit. We were finally able to sneak back outside to take some photos of just Katie and Dennis. It was so fun. Katie and Dennis are so playful with each other. They have a wonderful, visible love and were giving each other little bits of encouragement the entire time. That says so much about what makes their relationship so special.

After photos we came back to the pavilion for cake, friends, family, and fun. It was so special to see the closeness and joy of everyone there. You could tell that everyone had really been looking forward to Dennis and Katie’s celebration as much as I had.
