Maureen and John’s Hubbard Park Lodge wedding was lovely. Just really really lovely. Just like Maureen and John, who compliment each other so well. And if that wasn’t obvious the whole dang day, then I don’t know what was.
Their original wedding was a micro wedding due to…you know…the C word. Like many, they did not get to celebrate with their family and friends at their micro wedding, so this was their day to celebrate with their larger group of loved ones. Everyone who was in attendance was super happy to celebrate with the couple…and especially happy to party with them later that night. I mean, really, who hasn’t been ready to party post-Covid?
I’m a sucker for meaningful details at weddings, so I was living for Maureen and John’s flowers. All the flowers were provided by Maureen’s mom and step dad. They were fresh picked from their flower garden! And, bonus…a monarch butterfly or two were present throughout most of their wedding ceremony. Between the flowers, the butterflies, and the dreamy forest vibes, their ceremony was absolutely lovely.
The highlight of the evening was definitely the speeches, especially the one given by Maureen’s friends from college. They shared text messages Maureen sent to them when she first met John chronicling their first interactions and her feelings after their first dates. I hope they continue to save future texts so they can do it all again on Maureen and John’s 25th anniversary, which I know will be just as lovely as their Hubbard Park Lodge wedding.
