Monica & Chris’s wedding at Tenney Park in Madison was a really lovely day. There were so many special touches throughout, but those rescheduled Covid weddings are always just a touch more special, anyway.
We started their day off with a little hilarity during their first look. Just seconds after they saw each other for the first time, Monica’s dad rolled up outside and yelled hello. It was hilarious and perfect and really set the mood for the rest of the day.
Their original wedding was supposed to be at Memorial Union on the University of Wisconsin Madison campus, but, you know, Covid restrictions made them change their plans. To honor their original wedding location, we decided to go to the UW campus for their formal photos. We made sure to make a stop at Memorial Union and sign their wedding license at that location. Such a perfect homage to what they originally planned.
Their ceremony was officiated by Chris’s sister, which was really special. Overall their ceremony was full of a lot of really sweet moments. I especially loved that they planted a tree together during their unity ceremony. Unique touches like this really make my heart sing as a photographer.
After their ceremony, the party began with lawn games and appetizers. Just as their cocktail hour was ending it began to storm. And, I don’t mean just a little bit…I mean monsoon style. It rained through dinner, but the sun came back out just in time to give the couple a really gorgeous sunset. It was the perfect ending to their perfect wedding at Tenney Park.
