Marie and Marshall’s engagement session in Bay View gave major romantic vibes, and I was all about it. These two have such an easy, quiet connection, the kind that really shines through when they’re just in their own little world, and it made for such a beautiful evening together.
We started off nice and slow at a cozy little wine bar, sipping a glass and chatting for a bit before heading out. It was the perfect way to ease into the session. I always say it’s totally normal for it to take a few minutes to warm up in front of the lens — and that’s okay! Marie and Marshall took their time, leaned into the experience, and soon enough, they were completely in sync with each other.
From there, we wandered through the “downtown” Bay View area — just taking it slow finding bits of texture, and charm like the Avalon Theater. That part of the neighborhood always has such a cool mix of casual and romantic, and it suited these two perfectly.
To wrap up the session, we headed down to the beach just as the light started to get that soft, end of day glow. It was absolutely gorgeous — the water, the sky, the glow — and these two looked completely at home with each other. There’s something about the quiet at the end of the day that brings everything together, and their connection in those last few moments was so genuine and grounded.
Sessions like this are such a great reminder that there’s no “right” way to do engagement photos. Slowing down, being yourselves, and letting things unfold naturally? That’s where the real magic is.
