Noelle and Ade’s wedding at Renaissance Milwaukee was a beautiful, unforgettable day, full of the added magic of blending traditions from both of their cultures into one incredible celebration.
This was actually the second time I had the honor of photographing them say “I do.” Their wedding journey began with a vibrant Nigerian ceremony, followed by their Catholic wedding at their family’s church. Both days were full of joy, intention, and so much love. (Images from their Nigerian ceremony are at the bottom of this post—you don’t want to miss them!)
On their second wedding day, Noelle and Ade started with their ceremony in the church, surrounded by family and friends. After some wedding party photos there, we made our way down to the Milwaukee lakefront. Spring is one of the most beautiful times of year in this city, with blooming trees and soft, mild weather. It couldn’t have been more perfect for portraits of just the two of them. We wrapped up wedding party and family photos back at Renaissance Milwaukee before the evening festivities began.
One of my favorite details of their day was how they chose to greet their guests. Instead of a traditional receiving line, Noelle and Ade set up in a side room during cocktail hour, allowing guests to come find them, say hello, and take photos at their own pace. It gave everyone a chance to connect personally with the couple while still enjoying the party. It it was such a smart and meaningful way to maximize their time with loved ones.
The reception itself was full of heartfelt speeches, cultural traditions, and a dance floor that stayed packed all night. It was the perfect reflection of who Noelle and Ade are—joyful, thoughtful, and surrounded by a community that adores them.
From the color and vibrancy of your Nigerian ceremony to the timeless beauty of your Catholic wedding day, it was such a gift to witness how you combined your cultures into one beautiful celebration.
