One of the greatest joys of being a family photographer is watching families grow—and getting to document those beautiful milestones along the way. This recent newborn session with baby Oliver was extra special, because I’ve had the honor of photographing this sweet family for years, starting when Rubi was expecting their second daughter, Emma.
I’ve known this sweet family since Rubi was pregnant with Emma, and it’s been so fun to watch their crew grow over the years. From maternity photos to birthday milestones, I’ve photographed them through so many big moments—and now they’ve added one more to the mix with baby Oliver! It was such a treat to be invited back to capture this next chapter.
We did Oliver’s session right in the comfort of the family’s home, which made the entire experience feel so calm and cozy. In-home sessions are some of my favorites—especially for newborns—because everyone can relax in their own space, big siblings can take breaks when they need to, and we get to capture a little bit of everyday life along with those sweet, snuggly moments.
Oliver was an absolute champ during his photos—sleepy, content, and so easygoing. His big sisters were clearly smitten, and it was heart-melting to see how gentle and excited they were around him. We captured so many sweet moments: quiet cuddles, proud big sister smiles, and all the tiny newborn details that pass by so quickly in those early days.
It’s always a gift to photograph a growing family, but returning to one I’ve worked with over the years adds an extra layer of meaning. Thank you, Rubi and family, for trusting me again to capture this beautiful new chapter. Welcome to the world, baby Oliver—you are so very loved.
